"A BRIDGE" - I wrote this song to express some of my deepest feelings to and for my kids. May we all find ways to attempt to bridge the gap that we may feel between ourselves and those we love so much.

"AMBER SKIES" - There are so many beautiful places in this world. I get such a warm feeling inside looking out over the ocean, illuminated under the hue of amber skies. This instrumental is my way of attempting to describe that feeling.

"A NEW DREAM" - The title of this instrumental is a phrase from Toltec philosophy which means to dream this world we are experiencing in a new, peaceful and joyful way.

"AWAKEN" - A few years ago I was attending a Sunday service at a non-denominational spiritual center in La Crescenta, California honoring the anniversary of what they call The Liberation from the body of one of their Gurus. Throughout the whole day I felt a loving, peaceful and nurturing presence very strong. That evening I went home and wrote this song which is about awakening to the reality of our True Self and fulfilling our particular role in the Great Divine Plan of Universal Spiritual Awakening.

"AWAY FROM HOME" - I wrote this song after ending a long term relationship several years ago.I was feeling very alone. This song is really a prayer to the Divine for comfort and guidance.

"CHOOSE AGAIN" - My daughter Leira collaborated with me on the lyrics for this song. It's about realizing that no matter how many mistakes we have made (or will make) or how hopeless we may feel, we can always choose again. It's never too late. There is ALWAYS another and better choice.

"DANCE SAYAW" - During my visits to the Philippines I noticed that techno-disco music is very popular there. This inspired me to write and record this dance song. "Sayaw" means "Dance" in tagalog. Dancing is a great way to burn calories and release tension. It is also useful in grounding the higher vibrational energy that comes with practicing meditation. "Dance in Light" is the theme of this song.

"FOLLOW THE WIND" - This song is about awakening to and following our deeper, spiritual, true Self.

"FROM EAST TO WEST" - I wrote this song to honor all of the great spiritual teachers that have come to America from the east. I wonder sometimes where we would be as a country without the compassion and wisdom that they have imparted to us so abundantly over the last century. Thank you!

"HERE AND NOW / CONTEMPLATION" - This piece was a joy to compose and record. It started out as a single track (a Tibetan singing bowl) and then I recorded a track of my Native American flute and then keyboards and so on. Every part was composed and recorded very spontaneously. Most of the performances were captured in just one take. The song just took on a life of its own. I recorded the piano track for "Contemplation" back in 1990 as an improvisational piece. I added ocean waves and an additional keyboard track to it about two years ago. As I was assembling the master for this CD, I edited "Here and Now" and "Contemplation" together to make a approximately 18-minute long mediation piece to complete this record.

"HIGHER LOVE" - John Lennon wrote "All you need is love". After all is said and done, love is what life is all about. It is that which gives meaning to everything. This song is about the unconditional Love which heals all separation and sickness. It completes everything and everyone as a part of ItSelf. Love is Life and All Life is Love.

"HOLDING ON" - I started writing this song in 1990 with no particular person in mind. It was my dream about being with my soulmate and awakening to the wonder of Divine Love and Eternal Life together. The dream is finally coming true.

"I AM HERE" - Rebecca and I wrote the words for this song together as an affirmation of the boundless love and caring we have for each other, that knows no distance. I also see an even deeper message in this song. To listen click here

"I AM WE ARE / TRUE SELF" - This is a chant that affirms what we can know for sure. I know for sure that I AM because I am experiencing my experience. When I'm around what appears to be you I feel something more which tells me that YOU ARE also. "I AM WE ARE", everything else is open to reinterpretation. Contained within this knowledge is the real meaning of Life. "True Self" is an instrumental composition that helps to create an environment for meditating on the awareness and presence of our True Self.

"IT'S YOU" - I respect and support anyone in whatever their positive religious or spiritual practice may be. My own path has been more of the metaphysical and experiencial approach to spiritual unfoldment. I am a student of (amongst other things) the life and deeper teachings of the great master Yeshua otherwise know by his greek name as Jesus. This song is to him.

"IN RHYTHM" - This instrumental dance song started out as a drum piece using djembe and bongo drums, with various shakers and sampled drum loops. I later added Native American flute and keyboards for texture and to give it some melodic atmosphere.Drumming is another great way to get into a meditative state of mind. Drums have been used for healing in many native cultures around the world since early times because of their mystical healing properties.

"INVOCATION" - This chant invokes the presence of the Archangels Metatron, Raphael, Gabriel, Michael, Uriel, Sandalphon which are to me a few of the many wonderful symbols that represents aspects of the Divine Source as it expresses to us while we are in our present state of consciousness. These particular Archangels represent among other things the principles of meditation, healing, Divine communication, Divine protection, Light, music and prayer.

"MAHAL KITA" - These are the words for "I love you" in tagalog, the national language of the Philippines. Of course I wrote this song for my sweet mahal, Rebecca. To listen click here

"MISSING YOU BLUES" - You know, seven months is a long time to have to wait to be with your soulmate in person again. I did however return in December.

"TAKE ME HOME" - I originally wrote this song for another singer that I was going to produce a couple years ago. She ended up abandoning the project but I liked the song so much that I decided it would be a fitting last song for this album. May we all find our way home to true Love, Peace and Joy!

"THE FLAME OF LIFE" - I wrote this song originally as an acoustic song. I performed it at spiritual gatherings and church services for a couple of years. During the process of producing and recording this CD, I was inspired to arrange it as another dance song to balance out the overall sound and movement of energy on this record. This song is another affirmation of the nature and reality of the True Self and One Life that we all share. Even on this physical plane we are all inter-connected within our sun's light which as we know, is the energy that enables all organic life to exist and flourish on this planet.

"THE WAY TO YOU" - After I went to the Philippines for the first time at the end of April 2005, I wasn't going to be able to return until December because of work. This song was my promise to her that I would return.

"WE ARE ONE" - I wrote and recorded this song a few years ago at the request of a minister friend of mine, to be used as the theme song for his public access cable TV show "We are One in Spirit and Truth". In essence it was the first song that I recorded for this CD even before the concept of "Awaken" came to me.

"YOU'RE SUNSHINE TO ME" - This is a love song to the Great Source of Love that shines so beautifully in and through all beings who open their hearts to express its benevolent Light. It is also the acknowledgement of my complete dependence on our Creator, just as the sunbeam has no existence without the sun.
